Sounds Good To Me
Installation is where everything either comes together—or falls apart.
At Sounds Good To Me in Tempe, we’ve been installing car audio, security systems, and vehicle electronics for over 30 years. This isn’t a side service. It’s what we do—every day.
We’re known as the original home of the lifetime guarantee install, and we back that up. If something isn’t right because of how it was installed, we take care of it.
Built Around the Install — Not the Sale
Built Around the Install — Not the Sale
You can buy equipment anywhere. That’s not the hard part.
Getting it to sound right, function properly, and hold up over time—that’s where the work is.
Every install comes down to:
- Clean, vehicle-specific wiring
- Proper power and grounding
- Solid mounting with no shortcuts
- Correct integration with factory systems
- Real tuning based on how the system performs
There’s no “one size fits all.” Every vehicle is different, and every system is built accordingly.
What We Install
We install complete systems in cars, trucks, boats, and motorcycles—not just cars. If it has power and space for electronics, we can build into it.
Car & Truck Audio
Security & Remote Start
Navigation & Safety

Every system is built around the vehicle it goes into—fitment, wiring, integration, and tuning all vary by platform, and it shows in the final result.
Real Systems — Not Just Parts
Everything in the shop is laid out to reflect how systems work in the real world.
You’re seeing:
- Complete signal paths from source to speakers
- Amplifier setups matched to real systems
- Subwoofer enclosures built for different vehicles and goals
We don’t just sell parts—we build systems that work together the way they should.
Equipment We Know
We work with equipment we trust and install every day.
Our core lineup includes:
- Alpine
- JL Audio
- Rockford Fosgate
- Kenwood
- Voxx Electronics
- Metra
For security and remote start systems, we install Viper and other in-store security brands.
The brand matters—but how it’s installed and tuned matters more.
Straight Answers on Pricing & Installation
Installation isn’t a flat number—and anyone telling you it is probably hasn’t seen your vehicle.
Pricing depends on:
- The vehicle
- The equipment
- The level of integration required
We can give you a ballpark over the phone, but accurate quotes are done with the vehicle and equipment on-site.
If you purchased your equipment here, it’s part of a system we know and stand behind.
If you didn’t, we can still install it. Outside labor is billed hourly, and we’ll walk you through what makes sense before anything starts.
Note: security and alarm installs are typically limited to in-store equipment.
The Lifetime Installation Guarantee
We warranty everything we sell and stand behind our installation work for the long haul.
If there’s ever an issue tied to how your system was installed, we take care of it.
No runaround. No guessing. Just fixing it.

Why Our Customers Come Back
A lot of what we do is fixing installs that were done somewhere else.
People come here because:
- The work is clean and done right
- Systems work the way they should
- Recommendations are honest and make sense
- The install holds up over time
We don’t rush jobs just to move vehicles through the shop. We do it right so you don’t have to deal with it later.

Frequently Asked Questions.
You have questions. We have the answers.
If the price match is from an “authorized:” dealer that is verifiable, and not a close-out or B-stock, Absolutely. Bring it on. We will gladly match that price.
However, if you Googled the model number and were taken to Amazon or one of the other gazillion web sites selling damn near everything and then some…that one we will determine on a case by case basis depending on what the product is and who is selling it and for what price,** and what Dave had for breakfast.
(See footnotes) **
If the price match is from like Craig’s List or Aunt Margret’s new boyfriend’s brother who works in a warehouse/shop in LA, does “that” really seems legit huh? … Hell No. Come on man, be real!
Installation of products vary per car and items, to be accurate the best way for us to give a accurate quote is for the product and vehicle to be on site, we can certainly give you a ballpark over the phone
Always! We warranty everything we sell and also have a lifetime warranty on all installations.
Sounds Good to Me will extract for free any system purchased from Sounds Good to Me, and for a small fee reinstall the factory equipment to the leased vehicle to original factory.
Our hourly rate is $100 an hour for our outside labor with a minimum of $50 for installation services. Note: we do not do outside labor for alarms.
Not always, but it is recommended. Calling a day ahead is recommended of the desired install time.
We understand that everybody wants to pay the least amount for what it is they want to buy, we get that, and with Amazon there isn’t anything you can’t find for less than what most brick and mortars price their products at, we get that too. But…
** Here is the deal with price matching off Amazon. Before we can become an “authorized” dealer we sign a binding contract to represent and sell that company’s products at certain price points. That price point takes in account warranty claims, advertising, shipping, R&D, etc. and so we are contractually obligated to honor that pricing guide. And no we just can’t whore that shit out like some sites do. Why? Cause we represent, that’s why.
Now an “unauthorized” dealer doesn’t give a damn about any agreement to sell the products at a set price because they didn’t sign any contract. So, those bastards can whore the shit out of these brands. And they do too, the pricks.
Those products sold don’t come with any manufacturer’s warranty or product support either, something very few sites mention. They might tell you “of course it comes with a manufacturer warranty” but when push comes to shove and you try to submit a claim and send in proof of purchase it is discovered that the unit was purchased from a non-authorized channel and warranty support is denied. So, that’s why price matching has to be on a case by case basis. Come on, throw us a bone, and give us a shot at matching it, you never know…in most cases we will, but we do play by the rules.
